Cannot delete MXF clips.
- You cannot delete MXF clips with an $ mark. Remove the $ mark (A 153) to delete the clip.
Deleting clips takes longer than usual.
- When the recording media contains a large number of clips, some operations may take longer than usual. Save your
clips (A 168) and initialize the recording media (A 41).
Cannot delete MP4 clips/photos.
- The LOCK switch on the SD card is set to prevent accidental erasure. Change the position of the LOCK switch.
- Photos that were protected using other devices cannot be deleted with the camcorder.
Cannot copy MXF clips.
- There is not enough available space on the CF card being copied to or the CF card already contains the maximum
number of clips (999 clips). Delete some clips (A 154) to free some space or replace the CF card.
Indicators and Onscreen Displays
ì appears in red on the screen.
- Battery pack is exhausted. Replace or charge the battery pack.
í appears on the screen.
- The camcorder cannot communicate with the battery pack attached so the remaining battery time cannot be
displayed.
The tally lamp does not illuminate.
- Set [Other Functions] > [Tally Lamp] > [Front] and/or [Rear] to [On].
The tally lamp flashes quickly. (4 flashes per second)
- The battery pack is exhausted. Replace or charge the battery pack.
- There is not enough available space on the recording media. Delete some clips (A 154) to free some space or replace
the recording media.
- A system error has occurred. Turn off the camcorder and back on again. If this does not solve the problem, consult a
Canon Service Center.
The tally lamp flashes slowly. (1 flash per second)
- The combined available space on both CF cards is low. Replace the CF card that is not being recorded onto.
- Available space on the SD card is low. Replace the SD card.
appears in red on the screen.
- An SD card error occurred. Remove and reinsert the SD card. If the display does not change back to normal, save your
MP4 clips (A 168) and photos and initialize the SD card (A 41).
Even after stopping recording, the CF card access indicator or SD card access indicator stays illuminated in red.
- The clip is being recorded. This is not a malfunction.
7 keeps flashing on the screen.
- You connected the optional GP-E2 GPS Receiver to the camcorder’s USB terminal in mode. Disconnect the
GP-E2 and connect in again after setting the camcorder in mode.
U keeps flashing on the screen.
- The camcorder cannot lock on the external Genlock signal being input. Check the external signal. If necessary, check
the [TC/UB Setup] > [XF Legacy Sync] setting (A 204).
Picture and Sound
The OLED screen is too dark.
- Adjust the brightness with the [OLED/VF Setup] > [OLED Setup] > [Brightness] setting. To make the screen brighter
temporarily, set [OLED/VF Setup] > [OLED Setup] > [Luminence] to [On].
Screen displays turn on and off repeatedly.
- The battery pack is exhausted. Replace or charge the battery pack.
- Remove the battery pack and reattach it correctly.
